Albuquerque man placed in custody for shooting

ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. (KRQE) – An Albuquerque man is in custody after a shooting injured someone.

On Saturday night, the Albuquerque Police Department responded to reports of a man being shot near Vermont and Copper.

Upon arrival, officers encountered a man who was shot in the stomach and later transported to the hospital. Police said the shooter drove up to a victim and another person before shooting multiple times.

One of the victims identified the shooter as Anthony Lovato.

Lovato was booked into the Metropolitan Detention Center on Sunday and is facing aggravated assault and battery charges.
