lfred D. Stachowiak, 90, of East Broad Street, Nanticoke, died Friday at
Mercy Hospital, Wilkes-Barre.



Born Dec. 20, 1910 in Nanticoke, he was the son of the late John and
Constance (Bieneck) Stachowiak. He formerly worked in the local mining
industry and at the time of his retirement, worked at Pocono Manor Resort. He
was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II, serving as a sergeant in the China,
Burma and India Theater. He was a member of St. Stanislaus Church, Nanticoke.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Lillian.

Surviving are his sister, Marcella Flannery, with whom he resided; nieces
and nephews.



A private funeral will be held from the Earl W. Lohman Funeral Home, 14 W.
Green St., Nanticoke, with a Mass of Christian Burial at St. Stanislaus
Church. Interment will be in the parish cemetery, Nanticoke. There will be no
calling hours.
