Who is Dan Hardy? What is his MMA record? Daniel Mark Hardy is a retired mixed martial artist from England who competed in the welterweight division. Hardy competed in many promotions, including Cage Force and Cage Warriors, before accepting a deal with the Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) in 2008.

While his career had many highs, his biggest spot in the limelight was back in 2010, when he competed for the UFC Welterweight title against Georges St-Pierre at UFC 111. However, he lost the fight to 'Rush' via unanimous decision. This loss was one of ten total losses in his otherwise impressive 25-10-0 pro MMA career.

Where is Dan Hardy from? Early life and ethnicity Born in Nottingham, England, Dan Hardy started his martial arts training at age five. Having started with Taekwondo, he soon began competing at the age of 7. In his teens, Hardy found other martial art in karate, jujutsu, judo, Wushu, Muay Thai, and kickboxing. Having trained in multiple disciplines, he made the switch to MMA at age 20.

However, his MMA training wasn't a pleasant experience for him, as he had a fallout with his coach. As a result, he was barred from training with his then-teammates, which led him to start seeking training partners online. While searching for training partners online, he used the alias 'The Outlaw', which also became his moniker.

Hardy started competing professionally in 2004 and fought 36 times. In his career as an active fighter, he was the Cage Warriors welterweight champion, and fought for the UFC title once. The English mixed martial artist was a prolific striker with 14 KO wins, and a black-belt in jiu jitsu with two submission wins on his record. While retiring a a fighter in 2013, Hardy took on the mantle of commentator and analyst in the UFC, a stint which lasted until 2021 when he was released from his contract. Following his departure, 'The Outlaw' went on to join the UFC's biggest US rival's commentary team.

Is Dan Hardy in the PFL now? Dan Hardy retired from the sport early in 2013 after being diagnosed with Wolff-Parkinson-White syndrome, a cardiac disease. However, just five years later, 'The Outlaw' claimed that he was medically cleared to compete again, and expressed interest in returning to the UFC. In 2019, Hardy entered the USADA testing pool, but his return never materialized, leading him to assume a position as a fight analyst. A return to fighting almost took place in 2022, when Hardy agreed to have an exhibition boxing match with fellow UFC veteran Diego Sanchez.

However, that fight fell through, and in the same year, he married UFC fighter Veronica Macedo on December 25, 2022. Now the British fighter is a part of the PFL, where he currently works as a commentator but is finally looking to make a major comeback inside the ring. Although the PFL or Hardy are yet to announce an fight, the welterweight fighter believes that he might go one-on-one against former UFC champion Anthony Pettis. In an interview, he spoke about his PFL return, "I actually said to the PFL the other day, we were coming out of an event, and I said, 'Look, like, I'll dust off and come back for another 12 months."
