FAYETTEVILLE, WV (WVNS) – The general election is quickly approaching, but there are some people who are unable to vote the traditional way.

Some people cannot get out while some are off to college elsewhere, but that does not mean they cannot vote.

Voters can participate in early voting or apply for absentee ballots.

In-person early voting starts October 23 and goes through November 2. Fayette County Clerk, Michelle Holly told 59News absentee ballots can be requested any time until October 30. They will even provide a postage stamp for voters to return their ballots and cast their votes.

"We have sent out about 500 absentee ballots to folks and about half of those have already come back to us. That is a big increase from 2022. It really cannot compare to 2020. That was a whole different ball game in 2020. So we are expecting a pretty high voter turnout based on those numbers," said Holly.

If you wish to vote early in Fayette County, you can do so from from 8 a.m. until 4 p.m. throughout the week or on Saturdays from 9 a.m. until 5 p.m. starting Wednesday, October 23.

You can vote early at the Green Valley Church in Danese, the Montgomery Community Center, or the Memorial Building in Fayetteville.
