Amanda Bynes is making strides in her health journey — and she's letting fans in on the progress. The 38-year-old Hollywood icon took to her Instagram Story on Tuesday, November 5 with a snapshot of her fitness tracker, proudly announcing she's shed 6 pounds.

"Down 6lbs! 154lbs now," Bynes wrote of her weight loss progress. The image revealed that she'd walked 14,895 steps and covered 6.6 miles that day, meeting her workout goals and burning 481 calories.

This update follows her candid share in March about gaining weight due to depression and how she's been turning things around with consistent workouts and cleaner eating. "I've gained over 20 lbs. in the past few months from being depressed," she explained via Instagram Stories on Thursday, March 28.

But the Hairspray actress didn't stop there — she also shared that she had been working on new habits to keep herself on track. "I'm doing a lot better now and have learned to do opposite action when I don't feel like working out or eating clean," she said at the time, adding, "I weigh 162 lbs. right now and want to get back to 110 lbs."

Bynes has been candid about her struggles with body image and mental health over the years. In a 2018 interview with Paper magazine , she admitted that the pressures of fame had led her into battles with drug addiction and self-esteem issues. Reflecting on her role in She's the Man, where she played a girl disguised as her twin brother, the former Nickelodeon star shared, "When the movie came out and I saw it, I went into a deep depression for 4-6 months because I didn't like how I looked when I was a boy."

She went on to explain that seeing herself with short hair and sideburns for the role was "a super strange and out-of-body experience. It just really put me into a funk."

For those out of the loop, Bynes stepped away from Hollywood in 2010, announcing her retirement after her role in Easy A, a movie she later admitted made her uncomfortable with her appearance. "I saw it and I was convinced that I should never be on camera again," she shared, calling her X (formerly Twitter ) retirement "also stupid."
