Amazon Fresh Opening In Passaic Co. Draws Huge Line The new store is the fourth Amazon Fresh store to open in New Jersey, with three locations having opened this year.

WOODLAND PARK, NJ — The fourth Amazon Fresh grocery store in New Jersey officially opened in Woodland Park this week, and people reportedly lined up for hours to be among the first shoppers.

Doors opened following a ribbon cutting at 8 a.m. on Thursday, Nov. 7. Customers had the chance to win $500 toward groceries, plus the first 100 people got an Amazon gift card. There were other giveaways in-store as well, including a free tote bag.

People were waiting to get in as early as 3:30 a.m. , according to TAPinto Passaic Valley. The line stretched down to the Kohl's at the other end of the plaza, that report said.

"Dash Carts," which allow customers to with Amazon accounts to pay as they go, are a feature of this store. The carts can tally and weigh items, and shoppers who pay this way can skip the traditional check-out process. Customers can also pay in check-out lanes as usual.

Daily hours are from 8 a.m. to 10 p.m. at the new store, which is located at 1510 US-46, Woodland Park, NJ 07424. The 59,000-square-foot building used to be Fairway.

The store has fresh produce, meat, seafood, and other grocery items from both national and private label brands, along with a number of freshly-made items for shoppers.

Customers who shop Amazon Fresh can save up to 30 percent every day on 4,000 weekly rotating grocery items both in-store and online, the company said. Prime members also get Prime Savings, which offers 10 percent off on hundreds of additional grocery items.

Two other Amazon Fresh stores have opened in New Jersey recently: In Lodi and in Eatontown. There has been one in Paramus since 2022.
