Amy Robach and T.J. Holmes' Relationship 'Has Clearly Changed' (EXCL)
T.J. Holmes may have been the alpha male in the beginning of his scandalous relationship with Amy Robach , but now she's calling the shots and dictating their social life – and it's wearing him out, a source exclusively tells In Touch.
Former Good Morning America hosts, Amy, 51, and T.J., 47, departed the morning show after their shocking affair made headlines in November 2022. Since stepping down, their former partners, who they insist they were already separated from at the time of they were unfaithful – Andrew ShueMarilee Fiebig – have also begun dating in the wake of their spouses' infidelity.
The unseemly beginnings of their romance hasn't deterred them, however, as they've already decided to take their relationship to the next level by moving in with each other . While extra-marital bliss may have prompted their initial cheating, the insider says Amy is "running [T.J] into the ground and bossing him about and taking control of the relationship."
"He was always such a cocky guy who did what he wanted when he wanted, but Amy has turned his world upside down," the source adds. "He goes along with it because he seems to like her fussing over him. He thinks it's love, but clearly the dynamics have changed and she's in charge."
This most recent development of their relationship's downward spiral comes on the heels of a second insider previously dishing to In Touch that their "new living arrangement hasn't been as seamless as either hoped."
Still, the pair are making their best go of it, gossip be damned. Amy and T.J. even began their own podcast, "Amy and T.J," in an attempt at keeping their cratering media careers afloat. They've also been chronically their marathoning journey on social media as they train for upcoming events.
T.J. had dropped out of the Chicago marathon on October 13 after he wound up in the hospital with a knee injury. Shockingly, Amy took to Instagram to tell fans that she and her beau are still hoping to run the New York City marathon on November 3, writing, "I'm happy to report T.J. is on the road to recovery now and after 5 months of training, we are both hoping for redemption at NYC's marathon."
The announcement from Amy prompted some followers to express concern for T.J's wellbeing after his hospitalization.
"T.J., I understand you want to run in the NYC Marathon, but please listen to your doctors. Your body may need more time," one user commented.
The pressure Amy has T.J. under isn't lost on the insider, either, saying, "She's got him up before daybreak so they can go for a run together and signing him up for marathons when she knows he's got a bad knee, and he's making her breakfast afterwards."
"She's pushing him so hard. T.J. doesn't complain, but he looks tuckered out to their friends who wish Amy would take a chill pill and let the guy rest."
