Angelina Jolie looked gorgeous as she exited the Whitby Hotel in New York City to head to the screening of Maria at the New York Film Festival.

The Lara Croft: Tomb Raider star, 49, opted for a chic black and white silhouette in the form of a silky black top and white skirt with a dramatic, floor-sweeping fur coat.

She kept her accessories minimal with simple gold earrings and a metallic silver fanny pack around her waist while slipping her feet into nude pumps.

The star of the upcoming Maria Callas biopic wore her highlighted brown hair parted just off-center and down in loose waves.

The Oscar winner's makeup highlighted her flawless complexion with smokey eyes and a berry-colored lip.

The first trailer for Maria dropped last week. The movie follows the life of famed opera singer Maria Callas.

The film opens in the last days of the soprano's life and looks back on all the triumphs and tragedies along the way.

Callas died of a heart attack at her Paris home on September 16, 1977. She was 53.

Jolie said that roles like Callas come along 'once in a lifetime,' adding, 'I mean, it's certainly the most challenging,' Deadline reported.

To portray the opera singer, Jolie spent seven months learning six of the late singer's most famous arias.

And Jolie was also excited to work with director Pablo Larraín saying, 'This kind of work is not asked of me very often. And if it's asked of me, it's not often with this kind of material and this director, so these things come once in a lifetime.'

Her experience making the film 'was beyond anything I could imagine, and it was a gift emotionally for me,' she said, adding that the role, 'changed me as a person. It helped heal a part of me.'

The Mr. and Mrs. Smith actress said it is hard to explain all the ways the role changed and healed her.

'It would be too personal to explain. But from that first day [on set] not being able to breathe and crying to singing at the top of my lungs at La Scala, Milan, those moments changed me.'

'Having the chance to combine my two most deep and personal passions, cinema and opera, has been a long-awaited dream,' Pablo Larraín said in a statement to Variety.

'To do this with Angelina, a supremely brave and curious artist, is a fascinating opportunity. A true gift.'

The Netflix film hits theaters in the U.S. on November 27 and debuts on the streamer on December 11.

It is considered to be a major awards season contender and premiered to an eight-minute standing ovation at the Venice Film Festival.

Angelina is also serving as an executive producer of the musical adaptation of The Outsiders on Broadway and her daughter Vivienne, 16, worked as her assistant.

To mark the occasion, she and her teen got matching tattoos that say 'Stay Gold,' a famous line from the book by S.E. Hinton.

'I got "Stay Gold" with my daughter Viv during our time with The Outsiders. It means so much to us separately and together,' Angelina told CR Fashion Book .

Angelina's tattoo of 'Stay Gold' is located on the side of her arm near two other tats - in cursive. She did not specify where Vivienne got hers.

Angelina shares six children with ex-husband Brad Pitt : sons Maddox, 22, Pax, 20, and Knox, 16, and daughters Zahara, 19, Shiloh, 18, and Vivienne.

The mother of six also revealed her bird tattoo on her chest is another inking that she shares with 'some' of her kids.

The actress did not reveal which of her six children have the bird tattoo with her.
