LEROY — Anna Mae Benjamin, 100, of LeRoy passed away on September 26, 2024, at McLean County Nursing Home, Normal, IL.

Visitation will be Wednesday, October 2, 2024, from 2:00 - 3:00 p.m. with a funeral service at 3:00 p.m. all at Calvert-Belangee-Bruce Funeral Home, LeRoy. Burial will be in Friends Cemetery, Bentown, IL. Memorial donations may be made to Pleasant Grove United Methodist Church, where she was an active member for years serving on various committees.

Mrs. Benjamin was born September 26, 1924, in Secor, IL a daughter of Clarence Delevan and Mary Elizabeth Canaday Plue.

She is survived by her daughter Patricia Noe; grandson Andrew (Samantha) Noe; two great-grandsons Benjamin (Taylor) Joseph Noe and Nathaniel Jacob Noe; granddaughter Megan (Brad) Hicks.

She was preceded in death by her husband, parents, and siblings.

After Mrs. Benjamin was born, the family moved the farm northeast of LeRoy. She graduated from Ellsworth High School in 1942, worked in Peoria for a year before marrying Wallace P. Benjamin on October 31, 1943, in LeRoy, IL.

She loved to cook and bake and worked for 43 years in the food service at Ellsworth Grade School, the Bloomington YMCA, General Electric Company, General Telephone Company and Arnie's at the airport 16 years before retiring in 1995.

She was devoted to her family and especially to her two great-grandsons who were so important in keeping up her spirits and keeping her young at heart.

In her final year, she received wonderful care from the outstanding staff at the McLean County Nursing Home and Traditions Hospice.
