Annual Boulder Star lighting ceremony set for next week

A.Davis39 min ago

The 365 lights of the Boulder Star on Flagstaff Mountain are about to flicker on, once again, to herald the start of another holiday season.

The star's light, which can be seen for miles around, shines down on the city every year from Veteran's Day until January. This year, the Boulder Chamber and the city of Boulder will host a community livestream from 6 to 7 p.m. on Monday to commemorate the annual lighting of the star. The livestream will be at bit.ly/48EbPDU .

"Since its first lighting in December 1947, the Boulder Star has been a beacon of encouragement, love and community support," a release from the Boulder Chamber said. "Held on Veterans Day, this event kicks off the holiday season and honors our active U.S. military and veterans who protect our community and nation."

The event is being hosted in partnership with the University of Colorado Boulder Veterans Alumni Association and the Forever Buffs Veterans.
