Annual Lake Geneva electric Christmas Parade invites float entries and volunteers for 2024 event

Proving it is indeed the most wonderful time of the year, VISIT Lake Geneva proudly announces the 49th Annual Lake Geneva Electric Christmas Parade, set for Saturday, Dec. 7, beginning at 5 p.m.

A beloved holiday tradition for residents and visitors alike, the parade will once again light up the night as brilliantly illuminated floats, lively marching bands, and other whimsical entries wind through the downtown district, stepping off at the intersection of Williams and Marshall Streets before heading down Broad and Main Streets.

The anticipation will build for the final float featuring the guests-of-honor, Santa and Mrs. Claus, arriving in style aboard a City of Lake Geneva firetruck and wishing a "Merry Christmas to all, and to all a good night!"

Area businesses and organizations are invited to share their holiday spirit by entering a float in the parade. A panel of judges made up of Visit Lake Geneva's 2024 Impact Award winners will choose two entries as "Best in Parade" – one non-profit and one for-profit business – who will each win a $500 prize.

There is no cost to participate, and registration is open through November 8, 2024. Volunteer opportunities are also available and are a great way to kick off the holiday season with friends, family, and colleagues. Parade Ambassadors patrol the parade route and other street closures from approximately 4:30pm to 6:30pm to ensure the safety of spectators and parade participants.

The 2024 parade also continues the tradition of recognizing the recipient of the Lake Geneva Impact Awards' Outstanding Citizen winner with Grand Marshal honors. This year that honor goes to Dianna Colman, who led the transformational crusade to preserve and protect the historic Yerkes Observatory and has been an unwavering advocate for many more conservation causes throughout the Lake Geneva area.

The Lake Geneva Electric Christmas Parade is produced by VISIT Lake Geneva in partnership with the City of Lake Geneva and support from presenting sponsor Kunes Chevrolet Buick GMC of Lake Geneva.
