Annual Warm a Child for Winter coat giveaway returning to Saginaw

SAGINAW, MI – Once again, a local organization will give away coats in an effort to keep Saginaw-area children warm this winter.

Women of Colors will host its annual Warm a Child for Winter coat giveaway from 9 a.m. to noon on Saturday, Nov. 16, at Kempton Elementary School, located at 3040 Davenport Ave. in Saginaw.

The organization will give away both new and gently-used coats and winter accessories.

During last year's event, Women of Colors gave away 700 donated coats.

Members of the South 17th Street Church of Christ, located at 516 S. 17th St. in Saginaw, will also be at the event this year and will be distributing bags containing household items.

To receive coats, which will be distributed via a drive-through, parents must be in their vehicle with their children and provide the necessary registration forms on the day of the Warm a Child for Winter event.
