Anthony J. Adams, of Glen Street in Wilkes-Barre died Tuesday at East
Mountain Manor in Plains Township. Born Feb. 25, 1909, in Wilkes-Barre, he was
a son of the late Alexander and Rose (Balita) Adamski. A 1927 graduate of
Plains Township High School, he attended Pennsylvania State University. He was
employed by Nachlis Furniture in Plains Township for more than 25 years, and
by Prudential Insurance for more than 25 years. He was a U.S. Army veteran of
World War II, and a member of American Legion Post 558 in Plains Township. He
was a member of St. Mary Antiochian Orthodox Church in Wilkes-Barre. He was
preceded in death by his son, Paul. Surviving are his wife, the former Rose
Sallitt; stepchildren, Rosemary Yuhas, Lancaster; and Thomas Yuhas,
Wilkes-Barre; three stepgrandchildren; four great-stepgrandchildren; brother,
Peter Nevins, Wilkes-Barre; sisters, Jule Betnar, formerly of Plains Township;
Helen Nevins, Plains Township; and Ann Kunec, Plains Township; and several
nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Friday from the
Mamary-Durkin Funeral Service, 59 Parrish St., Wilkes-Barre, with services at

parish cemetery in Hanover Township. Friends may call from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9
p.m. Thursday. Memorial donations may be made to St. Mary Antiochian Orthodox
Church.
