APD searches for suspect of south Austin aggravated robbery at Dollar General

AUSTIN (KXAN) — The Austin Police Department said it was searching for a suspect in connection with a south Austin aggravated robbery that occurred Oct. 13.

APD said the robbery occurred between 9:10 – 9:30 p.m. at a Dollar General, located at 9600 Menchaca Road.

According to police, the suspect, who was described as a Black man in his 30s or 40s, entered the store and threatened the employees while holding them at gunpoint until the store's time-delayed safe opened. Police said the suspect left the scene with an undisclosed amount of money.

According to APD, the suspect was last seen wearing:

Black baseball-style cap

Blue long-sleeve shirt

Dark pants

Grey/white shoes

APD asked that anyone with information contact APD's Robbery unit at 512-974-5092. Tips can also be submitted anonymously through the Capital Area Crime Stoppers Program by visiting austincrimestoppers.org or calling 512-472-8477.

According to police, a reward of up to $1,000 may be available for any information that leads to an arrest.
