Armie Hammer is taking on a new role — not on screen, but from behind a microphone.

In a bid to scrub his slate clean and boost his finances, 38-year-old Call Me By Your Name star has taken a leap into the world of podcasting with The Armie HammerTime podcast.

"He's trying to redeem himself," a source revealed to Us Weekly in an interview published Thursday, November 7, hinting that Hammer's financial woes may be fueling his comeback. (Earlier this year, Hammer admitted he was struggling to afford gas and even sold his beloved truck, telling fans, "I can't afford the gas anymore.")

The Hollywood star first dropped the news of his latest endeavor last month in October via an Instagram video. "So, I've got a little bit of news. I think some of you are going to love this, and some of you are going to f***ing hate it," Hammer admitted. "But basically, I'm starting a podcast, and the original idea of the podcast was sort of the concept that throughout the course of a day, every single person you interact with knows at least one thing that you don't. So, teach me what that one thing is."

He continued, "I want to have long-form, interesting conversations with people who have tools or skills or have acquired wisdom or even just know random sh*t that I don't know. I want to learn."

The Social Network actor's journey back into the spotlight comes after backlash over unproven allegations of sexual abuse and cannibalism, which he has consistently denied. While he wasn't charged, his career took a nosedive, and his last movie role was in the 2022 film Death on the Nile. Hammer also finalized his divorce from Elizabeth Chambers in 2023 after a decade of marriage; they share two kids, Harper, 9, and Ford , 7.

Hammer's first podcast episode was released on Monday, October 28 — and the dad of two didn't shy away from talking about his past. "I'm not going to lie, I kind of like the cannibal stuff now. I'm just like, 'Hey, I'm a cannibal,'" he mused to his guest, comedian Tom Arnold. "What makes more noise? 'Armie Hammer is a cannibal' or 'Armie Hammer might not be a cannibal.'"
