Arne Slot reveals key Liverpool player is a DOUBT for Saturday's clash with Bournemouth after suffering a hamstring injury

Liverpool goalkeeper Alisson Becker is facing a race against time to be fit to play Saturday's Premier League match against Bournemouth , with the Brazilian goalkeeper suffering from a minor hamstring injury.

The Reds No 1 has a slight issue with one of his hamstrings stemming from earlier this month – it was not an injury suffered in Tuesday's win over AC Milan in the San Siro – and the club are unsure if he can recover in time to play this weekend.

As it stands, it might be seen as a risk to play him against Bournemouth and Arne Slot has confidence in his back-up keeper Caoimhin Kelleher, who played 26 times last season as Alisson was injured.

But Liverpool will wait for news today and see if Alisson can train or not.

'Alisson is a doubt - we will see to see if he will train today,' said Slot when quizzed on injury news. Harvey Elliott is the only other absentee after he suffered a foot fracture in the international break.

Mail Sport understands the issue is a hamstring tightness.

Slot added: 'He has a slight issue with one of his muscles and we wonder if tomorrow's game is too early or not.

'He did not do it in the Milan game, it comes from slightly before and he felt it more and more.'
