From Google to Coca-Cola, the Texas Rangers and the Dallas Stars, Tatyana Alanis has an impressive roster of clients. Now, the Fort Worth illustrator and designer can add another accolade to her resume. She is the featured artist for ArtsGoggle 2024. The artist, who currently has a solo show on view at Fort Works Art, has her work featured on the festival's official merchandise as well as its promotional materials. The news was a happy surprise for Alanis, who made her ArtsGoggle debut last year in what she described as a "hectic, hectic day." "I was like, 'That's so much fun. I can't wait to do it next year.' And then they reached out to me in June and (said) we actually want you to be the featured artist this year," Alanis said. "So (it's) definitely a change, and I've been preparing for it since." She will be one of about 1,000 local artists who will set up shop across 19 blocks of Magnolia Avenue when the annual festival returns Oct. 19. "Fort Worth has such a great art community and ... it's kind of like a little family," Alanis said. "Being welcomed into it is amazing. It can kind of make you feel more confident in your work because you know that you have a support system." Lost 'N Sound, a concert series that hosts live performances in unconventional spaces in Fort Worth's Near Southside neighborhood, will run concurrently with ArtsGoggle to add musical offerings to attendees. Making plans to attend this weekend? Here are some important things to know before you go: Both events are free to attend, but vendors will have art of all kinds on offer.
