Aston Villa and Adidas celebrate “the power of football and music” with Black Sabbath-themed Predator football boot and new shirt
Following a very cool campaign trailer featuring Ozzy Osbourne and Geezer Butler , Aston Villa and Adidas have launched a brand new collaboration to celebrate music and football in all its glory.
The new launch features a limited edition Predator football boot and a specially-designed Villa shirt that pays homage to Birmingham native, the Prince of Darkness, and Black Sabbath .
As per a press release from the football club, both pieces celebrate "Osbourne's influence in music and culture and offer a unique bridge between sport and rock history, continuing the creative journey of adidas x Villa and Black Sabbath".
The custom version of the Predator 24 boot – which will not be for sale – was hand-painted by artist Jordan Dawson, and draws inspiration from the band's iconic albums as well as their live shows. Fans will be able to catch a glimpse of the boots on the pitch as Villa goalkeeper Emi Martínez will be wearing them in an upcoming fixture.
As for the shirt, you'll be able to grab one of these for £120 – though only 250 will be available in an adult men's style, consisting of 200 home shirts and 50 black goalkeeper shirts limited to one per customer. These feature the Black Sabbath logo on the back, and will debut on the field when Aston Villa face Crystal Palace in the Carabao Cup (30 October).
Speaking about the collection, Ozzy Osbourne states: "My absolute favourite colours in the world have always been purple and black. It's been Black Sabbath colours for over 50 years. Tony, Geezer, Bill and I look at this as a huge honour. UP THE VILLA!"
