Attorney General Phil Weiser visits Grand Junction

GRAND JUNCTION, Colo. ( KREX ) — D51 introduced a new smartphone policy for the 2024-25 school year that limits students' access to phones during the school day. Attorney General Phil Weiser was at Grand Junction High School on Friday to talk with D51 principals, students, teachers and parents about the policy. He says his office is pledging millions to help school districts around Colorado with the smartphone challenge.

Throughout the roundtable discussion, there was very positive feedback about the policy and how everyone is working together to implement it. Attorney General Weiser tells WesternSlopeNow D51 is leading the charge in changing the way class is conducted, and says his office will be hosting a conference in Denver in 2025 with all the districts in the state to discuss how everyone can implement a policy like the one D51 has.
