(Ala.) star running back Alvin Henderson reached an illustrious milestone on Friday night, further cementing his legacy in the Yellowhammer State.

In a first-round playoff game against , Henderson reached 10,000 career rushing yards and is just the seventh player in high school football to ever accomplish the feat, according to the National Federation of State High School Associations' (NFHS) records.

Two weeks ago, the commit broke the Alabama High School Athletic Association (AHSAA) all-time rushing record in the final regular season game of his senior year. He also holds state records for most touchdowns in a season (69 in 2023), most rushing yards in a season (3,523 in 2023), most touchdowns in a game (nine in 2024) and plenty more.

"I was proud I broke the record," Henderson told AL.com after surpassing Alexandria's Mac Campbell, who held the state rushing record for 27 years. "I wanted to break the record but I also wanted to do it versus a quality defense."

Entering Friday night's playoff game, Henderson has rushed for 2,625 yards and 46 TDs in 10 games this season. Across 52 games spanning five seasons, the 5-foot-9, 195-pounder is averaging over 13 yards per carry and has accumulated 178 touchdowns on the ground. He's rushed for at least 100 yards in 42 of those 52 games.

Elba is the No. 2 seed in the AHSAA Class 1A state playoffs after finishing the regular season with an 8-2 record. The Tigers scored at least 40 points in nine of the 10 regular season games with Henderson leading the charge in the backfield.

Scout's Take on Alvin Henderson

Henderson flipped his commitment to Auburn from Penn State on June 21. He is the No. 125 overall prospect, No. 6 RB and No. 8 player in Alabama in the 2025 cycle, according to the On3 Industry Ranking , a weighted average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies.

"Alvin Henderson is the most productive of the top running back prospects in this cycle coming out of his junior season. He plays at a lower level in Alabama, but he is utterly dominant against that competition, as you would expect from a blue-chip prospect," On3 Director of Scouting and Rankings Charles Power said this spring .

"Overall, he's a well-rounded and reliable running back. He's going to be a guy who you can count on to maximize his blocking and pick up consistent yards. He's a highly productive running back prospect."
