Audits for election results in Georgia
J.Wright33 min ago
ATLANTA, Ga. (WJBF) – The election results from Georgia counties will be part of an audit to reinforce that the votes were counted properly. The races audited from those counties will be randomly selected. The audit is meant to ensure there were no discrepancies this year. It comes after several audits and recounts of the 2020 election. It's also designed to ensure public trust. "I think it gives voters confidence. We want to look at processes that improves security, enhances and encourages turnout. I think the number one thing is citizenship verification and we have a partnership with the Department of Drivers Services and we can verify citizenship before people even get on to the voter rolls," said Secretary of State, Brad Raffensperger. Each individual county will determine when and where the audits will take place. The results of those will be posted on the county's elections websites.
