Augusta Regional Airport: Auxiliary power back in place after operation suspension

UPDATE: As of 5:26 p.m. Monday, Augusta Regional Airport reported their terminal generator has been fixed and they have auxiliary power again.

AUGUSTA, Ga. (WJBF) – Augusta Regional Airport is suspending all operations following power issues from Hurricane Helene.

According to Lauren Smith, the assistant director of Marketing and Public Relations, the airport's backup generator has gone down as of Monday afternoon.

Airport staff are reportedly working to repair the generator.

People are asked to contact their airline directly for flight changes or accommodations.

The delay comes as Augusta Regional Airport returned to limited operations on Sunday, after officials reported they were running on auxiliary power.
