Austin ISD begins Travis Early College High School modernization project

AUSTIN (KXAN) — Austin ISD held a groundbreaking celebration Friday morning to mark the beginning of a modernization project for Travis Early College High School.
AISD said the high school would receive a $252,210,000 modernization, which was funded by the 2022 bond program.
Upgrades to the school will include:
flexible learning spaces
improved traffic flow
modernized athletic spaces
expanded mental health facilities and community spaces
According to the district, the modernized campus is expected to open in fall 2028.
The celebration marked the start of construction on the project and featured remarks from district leadership and a variety of student performances.
