Average LA County Gas Price Drops to Lowest Amount Since Jan. 18, 2023
The average price of a gallon of self-serve regular gasoline in Los Angeles County declined Friday to its lowest amount since Jan. 18, 2023, dropping four-tenths of a cent to $4.507, the 10th decrease in 11 days.
The average price has dropped 4.1 cents over the past 11 days, including two-tenths of a cent Thursday, according to figures from the AAA and Oil Price Information Service. It decreased four consecutive days, increased one-tenth of a cent Saturday and resumed dropping Sunday.
The average price is 1.7 cents less than one week ago, 7.6 cents lower than one month ago and 71.6 cents below what it was one year ago. It has dropped $1.987 since rising to a record $6.494 on Oct. 5, 2022.
The Orange County average price rose three-tenths of a cent to $4.407, one day after dropping two-tenths to its lowest amount since Dec. 30, 2022. It is 1.4 cents less than one week ago, 12.3 cents lower than one month ago and 65.6 cents below what it was one year ago.
The Orange County average price has dropped $2.052 since rising to a record $6.459 on Oct. 5, 2022.
"With the exception of San Bernardino, Santa Barbara and Ventura, all major metro areas in Southern California now have the lowest gas price levels of the year," said Doug Shupe, the Automobile Club of Southern California's corporate communications manager.
"Oil Price Information Service reports that California gasoline inventories have increased for three straight weeks."
The national average price dropped seven-tenths of a cent to $3.099, one day after decreasing one-tenth of a cent. It is 2.3 cents less than one week ago, 8.2 cents lower than one month ago and 30.6 cents below what it was one year ago.
The national average price has dropped $1.917 since rising to a record $5.016 on June 14, 2022.
