It was also Kala named a book of the year by NPR, the Guardian, Dua Lipa's Service95 Book Club, GQ Magazine, and The Independent, among others. Colin will also recite a complete short story at the event which begins at 7 p.m. "I'm delighted to have the opportunity to host Colin Walsh in Wexford Library," said librarian Hazel Percival. "Kala is a fast moving story set in modern Ireland, that keeps you hooked and I'm really excited to have the opportunity to hear Colin read his short story written to be heard as opposed reading the written word. This should be a very interesting experience for all present" Walsh's short stories have won several awards, including the Hennessy Literary Award and the RTÉ Francis MacManus Short Story Prize. His work has been published in the Stinging Fly and broadcast on RTE Radio 1 and BBC Radio 4. He grew up in Galway and lives in Belgium. If you would like to attend this free reading by Colin Walsh you need to book your place. To book please see link or contact Wexford library by phone at 053-9196760. All are welcome.
