Baby Isabel ineligible for ‘Baby of the Year’ title: How you can still help

ROCHESTER, Minn. (KTTC) – A Rochester couple shared a disappointing update Monday in a story KTTC has been following about an effort to help others after the loss of their infant daughter.

Baby Isabel's parents, Janelle Santos and Matthew Humphrey, shared on social media that their little one, who was in first place for Good Housekeeping's "Baby of the Year," will not be eligible to win after all. They said this is due to her passing.

Isabel died at three-months-old awaiting a heart transplant.

Since then, her parents have made it their mission to support other children awaiting organ transplants.

Janelle and Matthew had hoped Isabel could've won the title, to win $25,000 for her foundation to help others.

Now, they are inviting the public to donate directly to Isabel's Foundation .
