BAKERSFIELD, Calif. (KGET) — The 2024 Bakersfield Walk like MADD & MADD Dash 5K, hosted by Mothers Against Drunk Driving (MADD), aims to raise funds and awareness to fight impaired driving.

The annual event, now in its 11th year for Kern County, will take place at the Park at River Walk.

Kern County sees more than 4,000 DUI arrests annually, with over 11 made daily. Many impaired drivers, however, still cause serious harm before drivers can be stopped.

The event hopes to reduce these tragedies and bring the community together for a further without victims.

Participants can register as walkers, donate, or assist in raising funds and gathering volunteers.
