Baldarotta’s closes Lincoln Square location to grow new sandwich shop
URBANA, Ill. (WCIA) — To expand their business to new heights, a beloved Urbana sandwich shop has opened the doors to a new location and closed the original space.
Paris Baldarotta, co-owner of Baldarotta's Porketta & Sicilian Sausage said they opened their new brick and mortar location on Griggs Street on Nov. 1. She also said they had closed their shop in Lincoln Square Mall on Oct. 31.
Baldarotta said the new location has seen more business, especially from students. And, that the bigger space will allow the business to grow more.
With more space, they're able to offer a full deli counter, ready-to-eat items, a full dessert menu and three new sandwich offerings. They also have a private room to host events and parties.
In the future, they also plan to hold evening dinners and offer more catering options.
The Griggs location is across the street from Station Theater and Broadway Food Hall and in the same building as 25 O'Clock Brewing.
They're open 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. Tuesday-Thursday, 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. Friday and Saturday, and 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Sunday's.
