Barbara Helder Obituary
Barbara Lynne Helder, 77, of Muhlenberg Twp., peacefully passed on Friday, November 15, 2024 in her sleep with loving family by her side.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Mary Cleaver and Thomas Cleaver, her loving husband, Milton Helder, and step-mother, Mary-Ellen Cleaver.
She is survived by her sister, Susan Cleaver and nephew, Travis Cleaver; and her step-siblings, Lynne, Paul, and Mark Fretz; and their children, Alex, Max, Melissa, and Garrett. Also by her step-children, David, Jennifer, and Julia Helder; and their children; and Special Friends and helpers, Annie Weidner, Amy Manwiller, Catrina Marks, and Mark Bloom.
After graduating Muhlenberg Twp. High School, Class of 1965, and attending Penn State University, Barbara worked at Western Electric/Bell Labs in data processing and the art department for thirty plus years.
Barbara was a member of the Red Hat Society, Mensa, the Polymer Clay Society, and the Reading Happy Boombadeers. She was an avid poker player, and enjoyed Polymer Clay jewelry-making and collecting, needlepoint, painting and other artistic outlets, and dining out!
Barb will be remembered for her wonderful, sarcastic sense of humor and loves of dogs and TV sports, and especially the Reading Phillies.
An informal graveside service will be held Tuesday, November 19, 2024 at noon, at Pleasant View Cemetery, 650 Fritztown Road, Sinking Spring. An informal gathering for lunch will follow.
