Barnhart Transportation donates over $60K to two Erie organizations

Warehouse transportation service Barnhart has raised over $60,000 in total for two local organizations.

Shriners Children's Erie and the Barber National Institute were the lucky recipients of this year's Barnhart Gives Charity Golf Outing.

In total, 128 Golfers and 60 volunteers attended and proceeds were raised through various raffles.

Shirner's plans to dedicate the money to their wheelchair baseball program and the barber institute plans to use it for their school's adaptive equipment.

"There's no amount that's really too big or too small. Every dollar really does matter and these are the types of thing that we can then use to buy things that aren't funded otherwise," said Patrick Barber, senior vice president of the Barber National Institute.

"It's because of amazing, incredible community partners like Barnhart Transportation that we are able to continue to provide the highest quality orthopedic care to over 10,000 kids each year," said Nicole Vommaro, associate director of philanthropy at Shriners Children's Erie.

The CFO of Barnhart said they want to continue to give back to their community which supports them as well.
