Bath man arrested on welfare fraud charges

BATH, N.Y. ( WETM ) – A Bath man has been arrested on charges in connection to an instance of welfare fraud in Steuben County.

Brandon J. Bradford, 30, was arrested on Friday, Oct. 18, on the charges of criminal possession of stolen property in the fourth degree (class E felony), misuse of food stamps and petit larceny, as reported by the Steuben County Sheriff's Office.

Authorities state that Bradford allegedly used another person's benefit card, issued by the Steuben County Department of Social Service, on Aug. 8, 2024. In addition, authorities say they also found that Bradford had two active bench warrants out of the City of Corning Court.

As a result, Bradford was held for further proceedings in Centralized Arraignment Court.
