Bathroom fan sparks Beaverton apartment fire; Family of 3 lose home

BEAVERTON Ore. (KPTV) - A fire in a Beaverton apartment left a family of three and their dog without a home Saturday. Just before 4:30 a.m., a passerby reported seeing light grey smoke near Southwest Allen Boulevard. Responding firefighters found a haze in the area and began evacuating nearby residents and eventually found a fire in the attic space above an apartment.SEE ALSO: The fire was isolated to one unit and firefighters were able to salvage most of the furniture and belongings in the home. The American Red Cross is helping the family, firefighters said. According to reports, the most probable cause of the fire was a bathroom fan.
