Battered Bulldog Football Team Determined to Finish Season Strong UMD last lost their last three meetings at Sioux Falls.

DULUTH, Minn.- For the 3rd time this season, the UMD football team will look to regroup after another last minute crushing defeat.

On Saturday against Northern State, it came down to one last kick and the Wolves converted handing the Bulldogs their 3rd loss of the year.

UMD returned to the practice field on Tuesday in preparation for their upcoming contest at Sioux Falls, a place the Bulldogs have lost their last three meetings at.

Head Coach Curt Wiese knows the road ahead will be tough for his team but added he's determined to finish off the season strong.

"It's going to be a challenge bringing this football team back. Mentally and physically we're beat up right now, like everybody else is in the country. But, when you're 3-3 and you're beat up, it's tough to come back. So that's going to be a focus this week is number one getting healthy, mentally and physically, and then rallying the guys and get ready to strap it up. This is about the pride of our program, pride of the history of this program, to make sure that we can continue to fight and finish off this season the best that we can," said Wiese.

For senior defensive back Jacob Mogensen, the key to getting back on track starts at practice.

"They're an extremely gritty team. They like to pound the rock, probably a similar gameplan to what Northern did. So what we have to do is be really tough, play gritty football, match their energy, give them an energy that they can't match. You know that starts today on Tuesday, we have to have a really really good practice here today, set the tone for the week. That's exactly what we need to do to get back in the win column," added Mogensen.

UMD's next three out of four games will come on the road.

Kick-off between the Bulldogs and Cougars is set for 1 PM in Sioux Falls on Saturday.
