Beat: Countryside Pediatric Dentistry up and running
Bailey Neville, DDS knew early on that she wanted to be a dentist. She had done some job shadowing in both dentistry and medicine and decided that dentistry was the field she wanted. She recently opened Countryside Pediatric Dentistry at 3310 South Cornhusker Drive, York which is just a little way from the Holthus Convention Center on the way to the interstate.
The dental clinic opened on October 9 and the pace has been busy from the get go according to Dr. Neville. The clinic serves patients from newborns to 18-year-olds.
She is a Lincoln native having graduated from Lincoln Southwest High School. She went on to the University of Nebraska where she earned degrees in biochemistry. She entered the UNMC School of Dentistry where she graduated with a Doctor of Dental Surgery Degree. She recently completed a two-year residency in pediatric dentistry at Children's Hospital earlier this year.
UNL is also where she met her husband Evan Neville who grew up here and is a 2014 York High School graduate. The couple was married in 2020. Evan is presently in sales for the Industrial Pipe & Supply Company which is based in Omaha.
"Evan has moved our family to York on the Neville farm," said Dr. Neville. "We are living in the house he grew up in with our sons three-year old Coy and one-year old Cooper. We've done some renovation and we love spending time outdoors there."
As noted earlier, Dr. Neville and her five employees have been busy seeing patients since the clinic opened on October 9.
"I always wanted to have my own practice," said Dr. Neville. "Pediatric dentistry is higher paced and requires a refined skill set which is what I enjoy."
"We provide both primary and specialty care and enjoy fixing problems," she added. "We want to fix those problems before they become bigger problems. The experience and knowledge I gained at Children's in Omaha was invaluable. I saw kids with all kinds of health conditions and as a result have a ton of trauma experience also."
Dental services that are provided at the clinic include routine cleanings, fluoride treatments, protective sealants, diagnostic imaging, Silver Diamine Fluoride and dental examinations.
The 5,000 square foot building which was completed in late summer has 3,600 square feet of finished space at the moment. The clinic features six chairs or operatories and there is room for six more in the unfinished portion of the building.
"We purchased the lot and then went talking to banks," said Dr. Neville. She landed with Union Bank where she said she works with a lender that has a lot of experience with pediatric dental clinics. In fact, you might have seen her featured in recent Union Bank commercials where she talks about the experience.
The dental clinic is open Monday through Thursday from 7:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. and from 7:30 a.m. to noon on Fridays and can be reached by calling 402-200-3971. You can also access the clinic's website at www.countrysidepediatricdentistry.com .
Dr. Neville is a member of the American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry, Nebraska Society of Pediatric Dentistry, American Dental Association and the Nebraska Dental Association.

What the Heck:By the time you read this on Tuesday we'll have just returned from our latest foray to the state of Ohio. While we always love to see the grandkids and spend time with them, a big purpose of this trip was to attend the Nebraska – Ohio State football game.
We included Steve and Sara of course but also included our nephew and niece Matt and Molly Cole who actually live in a suburb of Columbus, Ohio. They are big Husker fans and had never been to a Buckeye game since moving there over five years ago. They said game days in Ohio was a good time to go to Costco.
The game day atmosphere was pretty good but it was also a little strange. We spend some time at The "O" Zone entertainment area and Buckeye fans were pretty indifferent to their Husker visitors. It was a different vibe from Lincoln when Husker fans seem to go out of their way to interact with visiting fans.
The Horseshoe holds over 105,000 fans and it was a packed house. For a while it looked like the Big Red was going to shock the world and pull off a big upset, but it wasn't to be. On the walk back to the vehicle I finally had a Buckeye fan ask me about our experience and whether we had a good time. He said he had been to Lincoln a couple of times and was always treated great.
All in all it was one of those bucket list things I've had on my mind for some time since we've had these Ohio residents in the family now. Would I go back? Probably. Maybe.
