Beatrice student Marquez part of UNL program

Alexa Marquez of Beatrice is one of 38 first-year students selected for the College Business Inclusive Leaders Program this fall.

The program uses education, mentoring and hands-on learning opportunities help the students learn how to make business more inclusive.

Each student receives a $2,000 scholarship and customized support for academics and their careers.

Marquez is majoring in marketing.

College of Saint Mary

Addison Dorn of Filley was one of 33 students in the Class of 2026 honored last month in the College of Saint Mary Physician Assistant White Coat Ceremony.

Students who have earned entry into clinical patient care are recognized by receiving a white coat during the event. The coats symbolize professionalism, ethical behavior, compassionate care and service to others.

After receiving their coats, the students complete their a year of classroom education before their final year of clinical rotations gaining hands-on practice in various medical settings.

Mercy College

Andrea Albertson of Clatonia was named to the summer semester president's list in the College of Health Sciences.

To qualify, students need a grade-point average of between 3.5 and 3.75 for a minimum of six semester or four quarter credit hours.

Southern New Hampshire University

Desirae Oliver of Fairbury was named to the summer semester president's list. To qualify, full-time undergraduates need a GPA of at least 3.7 over 12 credits.

Amber Bonsal of Fairbury was named to the summer semester dean's list. To qualify, full-time undergraduates need a GPA between 3.5 and 3.699 over 12 credits.

Unversity of Nebraska Medical Center

Sara Walford of Fairbury was named to the summer semester dean's list in the College of Nursing.

To qualify, students must earn a GPA of 3.75 or above and be enrolled in at least 12 credit hours.
