Beloved BBC daytime show returning to screens 15 years after first episode - as show bosses call for fans to apply
Have YOU got a story? Email Angela Rippon 's Rip Off Britain is set to make a huge return to TV after first appearing on BBC viewers' screens 15 years ago. The beloved BBC daytime show, which first aired in 2009 and has a total of 552 episodes produced to date, tackles consumers who have been ripped off. The show, which airs mid-mornings on BBC One, also alerts viewers to watch out for rip-offs that are currently on the market. As well as Angela, the hit show is presented by Julia Somervile and Gloria Hunniford. BBC bosses have now put out a call for members of the public to get in touch for the 17th series. They said: 'If you've been struggling to get a complaint resolved and no one's giving you the answers you need, please let us know. 'And it could be your story that Angela Rippon, Gloria Hunniford and Julia Somerville investigate on the programme.' Last week, Angela and former Strictly Come Dancing partner Kai Widdrington reunited and shared a sweet embrace at an event in London on Sunday. The broadcaster, 80, and Strictly pro, 29, were among the stars who attended a VIP reception for Celebrating Robin Windsor: The Final Act at the Theatre Royal Drury Lane. The event celebrated fellow former Strictly dancer Robin, who tragically died earlier this year, and was in support of mental health charity SANE. Angela displayed her age-defying looks at the event as she donned a bright red tailored jumpsuit complete with sequin floral appliques. Her silver locks were swept into an up-do and she finished off the chic ensemble with a pair of black stilettos. Meanwhile Kai looked dapper in a light grey tailored suit, white shirt and dark grey tie, as well as a pair of black brogues, as he hugged Angela. It comes after Angela celebrated her 80th birthday with four lavish bashes last month. Speaking to the Mail at an afternoon tea party at The Royal Garden Hotel in Kensington , she said: 'I actually don't know what it's like to be 80 and I have no intention of finding out. 'I intend to spend however long I've got on this perch growing old disgracefully, because it's a lot more fun.' She was presented with a five-tier pink cake by volunteer organisation the Phoenix Fun Events Team, which featured edible rice paper pictures of her on it.
