Belvidere North’s playoff run derailed by defending state champion Cary-Grove

CARY, Ill. (WTVO/WQRF) — Belvidere North got another long touchdown run from Ben Bucher, one that covered 80 yards, but that was one of the few highlights for the Blue Thunder Saturday. They were soundly defeated by defending IHSA Class 6A state champion Cary-Grove 42-7. This was the second straight year North reached the state quarterfinals. They finish their season with a 10-1 record, a school record for wins, and they finish as NIC-10 co-champions with Hononegah. For highlights of this game, watch the media player above.
