Berks cross country: Daniel Boone’s Julia Leady, Wyomissing David Giles win at invitationals

All payments by families must be made with a credit card. We will send a proof of the completed obituary before we require payment. The obituary cannot run, however, until we receive payment in full.

Obituaries can be submitted for any future date, but they must be received no later than 3:00 p.m. the day prior to its running for it to be published.

Daniel Boone sophomore Julia Leady won the girls race on Saturday at the Council Rock Invitational in high school cross country.

Leady ran 19:16.02 for the 5,000-meter course to win the race which featured 90 runners.

Twin Valley junior Riley Servis finished second in 20:02.23.

The Raiders finished fourth in the team standings with 149 points; Central Bucks West won with 35. Daniel Boone was 11th with 264.

In the boys race, Twin Valley finished fourth with 97 points. Council Rock North won with 53.

For the Raiders, Cooper Schmidt finished 10th in 16:51.51 and Frankie DiSilvestro was 14th in 17:02.75.

Daniel Boone's Daniel Shank finished 11th in 16:53.59. The Blazers were 11th in the boys team standings with 281.

Ben Blosser Bulldog Invitational

Wyomissing senior David Giles won the 1A boys race at the Ben Blosser Bulldog Invitational on Saturday in Newville.

Giles ran the 5,000-meter course in 15:44.80 with teammate Cameron Cohen fourth in 16:48.20.

Conrad Weiser's Logan Feeg finished sixth in 16:58.90 to lead the Scouts to the team title.

Conrad Weiser scored 70 points with Frankford second with 85. Wyomissing was fourth with 201.

The Scouts' Jio Garcia was ninth in 17:03.50 and Aiden Igielski tenth in 17:10.4.

In the boys 3A race, Exeter junior Chase Choudhry was second in 15:58.10. Jemmel Green of the Gilman School won in 15:51.70.

Red Lion won the team title with 82 points and Exeter was ninth at 282. Wilson was 16th with 409.

In the girls 1A race, Wyomissing finished seventh with 218 points. Central Cambria won with 64.

In the girls 3A race, Wilson finished 14th with 356 points, as Severna Park (Md.) won with 62.
