Best Bets: Bears at Vikings

B.Lee3 months ago
The Minnesota Vikings have won five of their last six games despite. They have been without Justin Jefferson since early October and lost Kirk Cousins right before Halloween. Despite injuries to their best players, they have found ways to win games and stay in the NFC playoff picture .

The Chicago Bears , on the other hand, continue to find ways to lose games, even the ones where they hold leads. An epic collapse, like the one in Detroit last week, can weaken the resolve of a football team. Another road game against a divisional opponent heading into a bye week could be a dangerous recipe.

The first time these two teams played, defensive coordinator Brian Flores blitzed Justin Fields on virtually every snap. Fields was constantly under pressure, completing 6 of 10 for 58 yards, no touchdowns and an interception before leaving the game with an injured thumb. This performance was a step backwards after showing out in back to back games against the Broncos and Commanders. Can Fields and the offensive line hold up better against the Flores blitz packages?

What you think of the answer to that question will likely guide your pick in this one. I’m going to slice it down the middle and say that both defenses keep the score low, the game remains tight, but coaching decisions by both sides give the Vikings the chance to win it late. Vikings win, Bears cover.
