Liberal Hollywood star Bette Midler has deleted her X account to protest President Donald Trump's historic defeat of failed Democrat candidate Kamala Harris. Midler's account, with two million followers, disappeared on Wednesday after it became clear that Trump had secured a landslide victory. The Disney's "Hocus Pocus" star had suggested she would take drastic action if Harris lost, however. On Election Day, Midler took to X to suggest that she and other Democrat voters should drink poisonous chemicals if Trump won. As Slay News reported , Midler revealed that she would crack open a bottle of champagne if Harris won. However, in the event of a Trump victory, Midler suggested she will drink a bottle of Drano drain clog remover. Midler posted a photo to X showing a bottle of what looks to be Korbel champagne with a Post-It sticker reading "Kamala Wins." The champagne bottle is next to a bottle of Drano clog remover with a sticker reading "Trump Wins." The post no longer exists after Midler deleted her account.
It's unclear if Midler followed through with her plan to drink the Drano bottle. Over the years, Midler has developed a reputation for her anti-Trump public meltdowns on social media. In July, the actress imploded over a federal court's decision to dismiss the "documents" case against the 45th and soon-to-be 47th president. Midler joined various other leftist celebrities who ironically claimed the ruling represented the politicization of the judicial system. In 2022, Midler fumed over X boss Elon Musk restoring Trump's account on the free speech platform. She called the decision "a tragic day for America." Midler continued by advancing an unfounded conspiracy theory that Musk emigrated to America from South Africa illegally. Earlier that year, the "Beaches" actress shockingly compared the January 6, 2021, Capitol protests to the September 11 terrorist attacks. She claimed that 9/11, which killed nearly 3,000 people, and Jan. 6 both events left her in similar states of shock.
