etty Herman, 96, of Gateway Apartments, Edwardsville, formerly of River
Street, Wilkes-Barre, died Wednesday at home.



Born in Wilkes-Barre, she was a daughter of the late Max and Fannie Brown.
She attended Scranton schools. Before retiring, she was in business with her
late husband in a men’s and women’s shop, Edwardsville, and the Beverly Dress
Shop. She was a member of Temple Israel and its sisterhood, the Jewish
Community Center and its Leisure Lounge and numerous other civic and religious
organizations.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Maurice; brother, Martin; and
sisters, Ann Mittleman and Mary Brown.

Surviving are her son, Bernard J., Palm Beach Garden, Fla., and Mendham,
N.J.; two grandchildren; sister, Esther Jacobs, Edwardsville; nieces; nephews;
great-nieces; and great-nephews.



The funeral will be at 2 p.m. Thursday from the Rosenberg Funeral Chapel,

Interment will be in Ohav Zedek Cemetery. Shiva will be observed in the home
of her sister, Ester Jacobs, 735A Deberly Drive, Gateway Apartments,
Edwardsville, 7 to 9 p.m. Thursday, 2 to 4 p.m. Friday, 7 to 9 p.m. Saturday
and 1 to 5 p.m. Sunday.
