Bid to convert former Leicester nightclub into flats
N.Thompson35 min ago
A bid has been made to turn a former nightclub in Leicester city centre into flats. The three-storey New Bond Street building, last home to Lily's Live Lounge, is the subject of a bid to change the use of the premises and make alterations inside and out, submitted to the city council. If approved, the buildings would be converted into five self-contained flats. Applicant Nigel Reeves Planning and Urban Design had previously applied and withdrawn a bid to convert the property in October 2023 after advice from planning officers. The latest bid sees a reduction in proposed flats from eight to five and the retention of the shop front on the vacant building. It would also see new windows and rooflights installed, and an external staircase at the rear removed. Members of the public can comment on the scheme until 26 November, and Leicester City Council aims to rule on the application by late December.
