Big W Australia wows with $30 copycat dress of Jag's $220 sell-out summer design

Big W Australia has taken on the likes of Target and Kmart with a range of high-end 'copycat' outfits that look similar to the real deal.

And the latest is one of the best we've seen yet for the summer season.

Spotted by the Kmart Insider , Big W's &Me Les Argumes Print Shirt Dress is just $30 and reminiscent of Jag's $220 Aimee Linen Postcard Dress.

Similar looks can also be found at St Frock ($99.90), Elk ($349), Walnut Melbourne ($199.95) and Aere ($160).

'Vacay style on a budget with summer's IT print,' the team wrote alongside a comparison of the two designs.

The Big W version is far more vibrant than the designer option and offers a refreshing Alemais-esque citrus print in a multi-coloured palette.

The woven viscose/nylon fabric ensures easy wear on warm days and it can be styled with a belt or tie-string for a more defined silhouette.

The Jag version - which is seven times more expensive - is made from 100 per cent linen, has a buttoned collar, adjustable rouleau loops, short sleeves and an all-over exclusive in-house print.

Many would-be fashionistas argued over which was the better buy, with many agreeing that while the Jag option is a more flattering cut, the print is more desirable on the Big W frock.

'The vibrant colours on Big W is better but the cut on the Jag is nicer,' one wrote.

'I much prefer the print on the Big W design but I can't turn down linen. Looks like I'm getting both, sorry future me,' another added.

It's not the first time Big W has come into its own in the dupe department, with the store launching a $39 version of a popular $4,850 coat in September.

The Big W buy is designed with two pockets, four large buttons on the front, shoulder and wrist tabs, and is made from polyester.
