Bishop Reicher, Live Oak set for first football meeting

They've played in volleyball, basketball and on the diamond, but Thursday's meeting between Bishop Reicher and Live Oak Classical will mark the first football game between the two Waco private schools.

The reason, of course, is apparent. Prior to this year, Live Oak played six-man football while Reicher has fielded an 11-man football program for its entire 70-year existence. But Live Oak's ascension to 11-man creates a new avenue for the rivalry that wasn't there before.

It's been a solid debut for Live Oak, which sports a 6-3 overall record and a 3-1 mark in TAPPS Div. IV District 1 entering this regular-season finale. Reicher (0-9, 0-4), on the other hand, is still searching for its first win of a hard season.

The Falcons are headed up by senior quarterback Colton Wilson, running back Allan Pahmiyer and receiver Vince Gann.

Kickoff time at Reicher's J.J. Kearns Stadium is 7:30 p.m.
