BPD to conduct DUI checkpoint Sept. 13
BAKERSFIELD, Calif. (KGET) — Drivers will be stopped and checked for any signs of impairment and proper licensing during a checkpoint Friday night, the Bakersfield Police Department said.

The department said officers will conduct the DUI and license checkpoint on Sept. 13, between 6:30 p.m. to 2 a.m. at an undisclosed location within the city limits.

DUI checkpoint locations are chosen based on arrest rates and collision drunk driving deterrence, officials said in a statement. Officials warn that a DUI arrest can result in jail time, fines, fees, DUI classes, and costs that may exceed $10,000.
