Bray Emmets clinch a sixth straight Wicklow SHC crown

Playing against the wind, the Bray side led by 0-2 to 0-0, but Jack Doyle pounced for two goals for Eamonn Scallan's men to make it 2-3 to 0-5 in favour of Carnew by the 15th minute.

In response, Bray captain Diarmuid Masterson, Andrew Conway, Christy Moorehouse and Eoin McCormack all raised white flags to trail by the bare minimum at half-time, 2-5 to 0-10.

The clinical Moorehouse added a further six points to take his tally to 12 overall, one of his scores giving Bray the lead midway through the second half.

Second-half goals by Eoin Kavanagh and Bob Fitzgerald were not enough for Carnew, who lost Conal McCrea to a second yellow card, to deny Bray a 20th Wicklow SHC crown.

So the Bray side jointly managed by John Henderson and Ronan O'Brien got to lift the O'Donoghue Cup again.
