Brian Robinson injury update: Latest on Commanders RB's status vs. Panthers

E.Wright31 min ago

After missing last week's game against the Baltimore Ravens, it appears Brian Robinson could be looking at a return from injury this week against the Carolina Panthers, according to ESPN's Jeremy Fowler. The Washington Commanders RB sat out with a knee injury, but his status will be determined as the weekend goes on.

Robinson was a limited participant in practice all week and is questionable heading into Sunday's game. He had been dealing with the injury for the last couple weeks heading into the Battle of the Beltway against Baltimore, but was unable to suit up.

As for Robinson's status against the Panthers, Fowler said the Commanders are more optimistic about his chances of playing in Week 7. However, a decision will come over the weekend with the week of practice in the books.

"In other injury news, Washington running back Brian Robinson – sat out last week with a knee injury. I'm told there is more optimism this week," Fowler said on SportsCenter Friday evening. "We'll see what kind of call they make over the weekend."

Robinson leads the Commanders with 325 rushing yards and five touchdowns on the ground this year. He's in his third year with Washington out of and has started every game dating back to last season, serving as a key weapon in the backfield in Washington's high-powered offense.

The Commanders running game was fairly quiet in last week's loss to Baltimore. Jayden Daniels led the team with 22 rushing yards while Austin Ekeler took the bulk of the carries, going for 21 yards on nine attempts out of the backfield. Washington only totaled 52 yards on the ground despite averaging 177.8 rush yards entering Week 6.
