McDonald's honors veterans

McDonald's restaurants in Johnstown and Altoona are honored to serve veterans, active-duty military members and their families each and every day. This year, McDonald's restaurants across the region will be recognizing Veterans Day in a special way, by offering current and former military members free food.

Participating McDonald's restaurants will offer a meal to all veterans, with a valid military ID, all day on Monday, Nov. 11. For breakfast, veterans can enjoy a free Sausage Egg McMuffin meal, including a hash brown and any size soft drink, tea or coffee. For lunch or dinner, veterans can enjoy a free 10-piece McNugget meal with medium fries and any size soft drink, tea or coffee.

The deals are only available via dine-in or drive-thru. The deals are not available in the McDonald's app. Breakfast meals are only available until 10:30 a.m.

Weis opens Starbucks

Weis Markets has opened the area's first Starbucks at their store in Bellefonte.

In celebration of the opening, Weis Markets presented a $1,000 donation to nonprofit organization Faith Centre to support its food bank and pet pantry.

The new Starbucks offers a wide selection of hot and cold beverages, bakery items, mugs and whole bean and ground coffee offerings. It is the first Starbucks kiosk to open inside a Weis Markets location.
