Bring it on home: Italy
Who and where: Polly and Frank Fick of Oakville at the Umbrian mountain village of Civitella Del Lago overlooking Lake Corbara.
The trip: The couple visited Italy in May 2023 on a Rick Steves Village Italy Tour. The trip was unique for skipping large tourist cities and concentrating on small villages. The trip included visits to a winery, truffle hunting, Italian cooking lesson at an agriturismo and the Carrara marble quarry.
Travel tip: "Italy is quite hilly, be prepared! Exercise ahead of time and bring comfortable hiking shoes. Polly ended up purchasing more comfortable shoes during the trip."
