Brown County leaders urge residents to start preparing for winter storms

GREEN BAY, Wis. (WFRV) – As Winter Weather Awareness Week kicks off from November 18-22, 2024, Brown County Executive Troy Streckenbach and Emergency Management Director Daniel Kane are reminding residents to prepare for the challenges of severe winter weather.

According to Brown County leaders preparedness involves having a plan:

Create an emergency kit by stocking essential items for your home and vehicle, including blankets, flashlights, non-perishable food, and a first-aid kit.

Make a plan to ensure your family knows what to do during power outages or when travel is unsafe.

Stay informed by monitoring weather alerts and warnings through local channels and apps.

According to the release, these proactive measures could make all the difference during a snowstorm or extreme cold snap.
